Sin duda..al menos con su primer disco en solitario, el injustamente olvidado (o no, según se mire) te huelen los pies.
|¿"sabes lo que dice Emilio en momentos como éste"?|
"Pero qué pas..¡estooo,te huelen los pies!"
This is probably on of the best rock albums of the century. Emilio has an amazing voice and guitar technique, plus an unbeliveable band that shows us the very best of funk, rock, hard rock, pop and progressive music. Starting with the hit single "Te huelen los pies" ("your feet smells"), Mr. Aragón (by the way, son of a popular spanish clown, Milikito) almost touches every note from the most influential musics we've ever heard. There are much of social criticism here, like "Cubatita de ron" ("little drink of rum"), a song about the dangers of drinking too much (supossed to be a real story about how Emilio was near to lose his life by earlier alcoholism; never confirmed), or "Cuidado con Paloma" ("be careful with the dove"), a song about superficial life and consumism (Emilio is a well-known politic activist; in fact now he is the chairman from TV channel "La Sexta", a very controvertial red channel [despite its logo is green!]). "Ui se mua" and "Hey Mr. Waiter" are a fine example of how Emilio can sing in any language he wants (perfect french and english). These are very rocky songs, but he can play too slow and beautiful songs like "María" ("mary") or "Dónde estabas tú" ("where the fuck where you at?"), raw love songs (he knows a lot of love, not only beacause his obvious physic atractive but his talking skills).
Saddly his music was too advanced for a country like Spain, more concerned about how slept with who or about El Canto del Loco`s new album.
Came back, Emilio, please. The future of rock is in your gently hands!!
